  1. Biên soạn: Lop4.com.vn LESSON PLAN UNIT 4 – MY BIRTHDAY PARTY Lesson 1 – Activities 1, 2, 3 Period 23 School: ................................ School year: 2026–2027 Teacher: ................................ Class: 4........ Subject: English Week: 06 Periods: 1 (35 minutes) Preparation date: .... / .... / ........ Teaching date: .... / .... / ........ I. LEARNING OUTCOMES 1. Language knowledge and skills Recognise and say January, February, March and April; understand May in Lucy’s dialogue and the word birthday. Understand and repeat the two exchanges about making a party hat and asking about a birthday. Ask When’s your birthday? and answer It’s in + month in supported pair exchanges. 2. Competences Use a calendar label as a speaking cue, listen to a partner and create a simple labelled drawing to communicate a birthday month. 3. Personal qualities Show interest in classmates’ celebrations while allowing a pupil to use a practice role instead of sharing a real birthday. 4. Integrated learning [CB2.3.1] Developing digital content: draw a simple cake and add a date/month label in the offline canvas, then check the label against the spoken month. The PPCT drawing requirement is implemented in this birthday lesson. [4.A1.2] Human agency: reject a simulated March answer for an April card, point to the evidence and give the corrected answer. II. TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS Teacher: textbook pictures and the complete task scripts below; board, markers and the offline file HocLieuKemTheo/Tuan-06/HocLieu-Tuan-06-EN.html, opened from the same folder as this lesson plan. Keep its images folder beside it. Use the official recording when available and checked before class. Otherwise read the printed Teacher’s Book script naturally twice, with a pause for answers; this is a teacher-read alternative. The offline file contains no audio player or speech scoring. Pupils: English 4 textbook, notebook, pencil and an eraser. Use pairs and small groups so that every pupil speaks. Displayed AI outputs are prepared simulations, not live replies; no pupil account or personal data is needed. Teacher: page 28 pictures, four month cards (January, February, March, April), an extra May card, board sentence frame and a prepared blank cake canvas. Open the Birthday studio panel before class; demonstrate one stroke and the label field. 13
  2. Biên soạn: Lop4.com.vn Provide a device per small group if available. On a single shared device, invite two pairs to try the drawing while the others practise orally and draw on paper; record which pupils actually operated it. A paper drawing supports the lesson but is not evidence of digital operation. Pupils: pencil and coloured pencils. Use a fictional practice label such as 5 March; speaking requires the month only, not ordinal dates. Prepare a blank invitation outline with To / Date / Time / Place for the later Unit 4 Project. III. TEACHING AND LEARNING ACTIVITIES 1. Warm-up – A birthday greeting (3 minutes) Learning goal: Establish the birthday context with a familiar greeting. Task content and materials Sing or chant for the fictional textbook character Lucy: Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday, dear Lucy! Happy birthday to you! Teacher prompt: “A birthday party!” Show a simple paper hat. No external video is needed.
